Asthma victims
Asthma is due to inflammation in the air passages and in the lungs. It affects the sensitivity of the nerves in the airways and they become easily irritated. In an attack, the lining of the passages swell causing the airways to narrow and reducing the flow of air in and out of the lungs.
What to do;Stay calm and be reassuring to the patient
If they have a puffer then they should use it as soon as possible
Remove the patient from any possible asthma triggers, such as: smoke, dust, etc.
Asks them if they have an action plan for when they have a flare up
Put this plan to work
